Note. These terms cover use of this website and the QuickBooks integration. Bookkeeping services themselves are governed by the signed engagement letter between us, which controls wherever the two differ.
What this integration does
The Trade Secrets QuickBooks integration reads your QuickBooks Online data so that we can perform the bookkeeping services described in your engagement letter. It requests read-only access and cannot create, modify, or delete anything in your QuickBooks file.
What we do not do
Trade Secrets Bookkeeping Co. provides bookkeeping services only. We do not:
- prepare tax returns or provide tax advice
- represent clients before the IRS or any taxing authority
- perform audits, reviews, or compilations
- process payroll or make payroll tax filings
- make worker classification determinations
- handle lien waivers, preliminary notices, or lien deadlines
- sign lender, surety, or bonding verification letters
- initiate payments, transfers, or filings of any kind
Financial statements we prepare are for management use. No audit, review, or compilation is performed and no assurance is provided.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide, for maintaining your own records, and for reviewing the statements we deliver. Our work reflects only what is recorded in the accounting system — cash receipts that are not deposited or documented cannot be reflected or verified.
Automated tools
We use automated tools and AI-assisted software, including features native to QuickBooks. All work product is reviewed by a certified professional before delivery. See our privacy policy for what data those tools receive and what is never sent to them.
Access and revocation
You may revoke our QuickBooks access at any time from Settings → Apps in QuickBooks, or at appcenter.intuit.com, without notice to us. See the disconnect page for what follows.
Your data
Your financial data belongs to you. If we provide your QuickBooks subscription as part of your monthly fee, you may assume billing directly on termination and you retain full ownership of all data in the file.
Fees
Fees, billing terms, and any adjustments are governed by your engagement letter. Monthly fees may be adjusted to reflect changes in third-party software subscription costs with thirty days’ written notice.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from our services is limited to the fees you paid us in the preceding twelve months. This limitation is stated in full in your engagement letter, which controls.
Termination
Either party may terminate with thirty days’ written notice. On termination you receive a complete exit package and QuickBooks administrative access is returned to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona.
